From time immemorial, Sri Lanka, formerly known as Ceylon was a much sought-after destination visited by explorers and traders who came in search of the best of spices, gems and much more.
Asanka
Amarathunga
Managing Director
In pursuit of realizing Asanka’s dream to provide nourishing food for the people across the world, he envisioned the setting up of Agro One to supply high quality natural food grown in the paradise island he was born in – Sri Lanka.
At the helm of Agro One Exports Pvt Ltd. as its Manging Director, he drives the Company focusing on global sales and marketing efforts. Asanka completed his B. Com Degree in Accounting and Finance from Ontario Tech University, Ontario, Canada and MSc in Strategic Marketing from ICBT, Colombo, Sri Lanka.
During his tenure in Sri Lanka, he had the opportunity of serving at some of Sri Lanka’s blue-chip corporates including Hayleys Group, Browns Group of Companies, MAS Holdings and Assetline Group.
He possesses an extensive overseas exposure where his responsibilities had been extended to the areas of Business Strategy, Marketing and Communications, Project Management, Business Analytics and Customer Relationship Management and, now poised to widen the horizons of Agro One, fulfilling its vision and making his dream come true.
Dr. Wasantha Deshapriya
Director Technical
Dr. Deshapriya is a veteran in the field of herbal medicine, strengthened by over 15 years of experience. He is armed with a Bachelor’s Degree in Ayurveda Medicine and Surgery, from the University of Colombo and Masters in Medical Administration at the University of Sabaragamuwa. His illustrious working experience has been as a former Medical Officer at Bandaranaike Memorial Ayurveda Research Institute, Sri Lanka; as a Production Consultant at Access Natural Water Pvt Ltd since January 2020 to-date; Sri Lanka Representative for GHL Beratergruppe – a Planning and Consulting Company, Germany since January 2018 to-date, Executive Director, Ideal Partner since 2017 to-date and Business Consultant – Nucleus International Pvt Ltd.
With proven leadership skills he excels in situation analysis, problem solving abilities, project management, capacity for working in a team environment and technical and design ability.
Dr. Deshapriya pursues new innovations, research, trends and market dynamics in the field of agri foods and medicines. His further interests include wellness tourism, personalized medicine, herbal cultivation, production of herbal medicines and organic foods. With a gamut of expertise in diverse areas, Dr. Deshapriya adds much value to the technical aspects of Agro One.
Nisansala
Kumarage
Director Finance
Hailing from the field of Banking, Nisansala served in a leading Bank in Sri Lanka. She is experienced in both retail and corporate banking operations, including personal business operations, cash management, credit management, risk management, fund management, trade services operations, information technology, etc.
During her Banking career, she was extensively engaged in corporate relations, which included handling of large-scale businesses and Government sector institutions. She is well experienced in management accounting, human resource management and financial management, business analysis.
She holds Bsc. Business Administration (Special) degree from the University of Sri Jayewardenepura, Intermediate in Applied Banking and Finance (IABF), Certificate in Accounting and Business and Strategic level (Institute of Chartered Accountants of Sri Lanka) and passed finalist of Association of Accounting Technicians of Sri Lanka (AAT).
